Bespoke AV Furniture Solutions for Scalable Education Environments

The Manchester College required a series of bespoke collaboration tables to support a range of teaching, meeting, and hybrid learning environments  from a large executive boardroom to smaller meeting and collaboration spaces.

Design-Led was appointed as the furniture design and manufacturing partner, responsible for creating a coordinated family of AV-integrated education furniture solutions that could scale across different room sizes while delivering a consistent, intuitive user experience.

Project Overview

This project involved the design and manufacture of multiple bespoke collaboration tables, each individually scaled and configured to suit its specific environment within The Manchester College.

Rather than a single furniture solution, the brief called for a range of AV furniture from a large-format boardroom collaboration table to smaller tables for meeting rooms and breakout spaces. Each table was designed to reflect the proportions, usage, and technical requirements of its room, while maintaining a cohesive visual language across the estate.

Every table was engineered as a purpose-built AV furniture solution, allowing audiovisual technology, power, and data to be integrated cleanly and consistently, regardless of scale. This approach ensured flexibility for different teaching and meeting formats, while providing a unified experience for staff and students moving between spaces.

For smaller rooms, scaled-down collaboration tables were developed using the same design principles. These tables deliver the same level of AV integration and usability, adapted to suit more compact environments and flexible meeting formats.
