Acoustic Solutions Roll-Out for Corporate Offices
From Single Phase Trial to Multi-Room Implementation

Proving Acoustic Performance Before Scaling
Corporate organisations often hesitate to invest in large-scale acoustic upgrades without clear evidence of impact. This project demonstrates how a phased acoustic approach, starting with a small number of rooms, led to a successful multi-room roll-out once the benefits were clearly experienced.
Design-Led was appointed to deliver bespoke acoustic solutions across a corporate office environment, initially targeting a small group of key spaces before expanding to over twenty rooms across the building.
Project Overview
The initial brief focused on improving acoustics in five rooms, including the main boardroom, where poor sound quality was affecting meeting clarity, concentration, and overall comfort.
The aim of the first phase was to:
-
Reduce reverberation and echo
-
Improve speech intelligibility during meetings
-
Create calmer, more effective meeting environments
-
Assess the real-world impact before wider investment
Rather than committing to a full building-wide solution from the outset, the client chose a measured, evidence-led approach.
Phase One: Initial Acoustic Improvements
The first phase included acoustic treatments across five key rooms, carefully selected to represent different meeting sizes and usage patterns.
Following installation, feedback from users was immediate:
-
Meetings became clearer and less fatiguing
-
Background noise was noticeably reduced
-
Remote and hybrid calls improved
-
Overall comfort within the rooms increased
The acoustic improvements were quickly recognised by both senior leadership and regular users of the spaces.
Phase Two: Expanded Room Programme
Based on the success of the first phase, the client commissioned a second phase, extending acoustic treatments to an additional five meeting rooms.
This phase confirmed that the benefits were consistent and repeatable, regardless of room size or layout. As more teams experienced the improved acoustic environment, demand for similar upgrades increased across the organisation.
Phase Three: Office-Wide Roll-Out
Following the completion of the second phase, the response from staff and management led to a wider request: individual managers asked for acoustic solutions within their own offices.
This final phase extended acoustic treatments into private offices and additional spaces, bringing the total scope to over twenty rooms across the building.
The project evolved from a targeted trial into a full acoustic roll-out, driven entirely by user experience and proven results.
Why This Approach Worked for the Client
For corporate end users, this phased approach delivered clear benefits:
-
Low initial risk – trialled in key spaces first
-
Demonstrable results – improvements experienced immediately
-
Scalable solution – proven performance replicated across multiple rooms
-
Staff buy-in – demand driven by users, not imposed centrally
-
Long-term value – consistent acoustic quality across the workplace
By allowing performance to lead the decision-making, the organisation gained confidence in scaling the solution.
Designed for Corporate Environments
Throughout the project, acoustic treatments were designed to:
-
Integrate seamlessly with existing interiors
-
Maintain a professional, non-intrusive appearance
-
Be durable and low-maintenance
-
Support both in-person and hybrid working
Each room received a tailored acoustic solution based on its size, layout, and use, ensuring consistent results across the building.
Outcome
The completed project now includes acoustic treatments in over twenty rooms, spanning boardrooms, meeting rooms, and individual offices.
The result is a noticeably calmer, more effective working environment, where communication is clearer, meetings are more productive, and staff comfort has improved throughout the organisation.
Most importantly, the roll-out was driven by proven performance, not assumption.
