Unlike classrooms, school halls are used for a wide range of activities, including:

• Increase stress and fatigue, particularly for younger pupils

• Disproportionately affect pupils with additional learning needs

• Contribute to higher noise levels and challenging behaviour

Improving acoustics helps create a calmer, more inclusive environment where pupils can listen, engage, and participate more effective.

The acoustic solution was designed specifically for a large, multi-use school hall, focusing on reducing echo while maintaining the practical requirements of the space.

The design aimed to:

• Reduce reverberation time across the hall

• Integrate safely and discreetly within the hall environment

• Withstand regular use by pupils

All materials were selected to be suitable for education environments, balancing performance, safety, and durability.

The solution incorporated bespoke acoustic treatments, strategically positioned to address the most reflective surfaces within the hall.

• Coordination with the hall’s layout and ceiling height
